In terms of storage, you can store bacteriostatic water longer than plain saline liquid. However, if you bacteriostatic water for injection and don’t use it for over 28 days, it is best that you discard it. The benzyl alcohol will have already lost its ability to prevent bacterial growth after 28 days.
